OLD Karen's Story

Karen is a free soul in search of true happiness and spiritual growth. In this journey she has been enlightened by the beauty of the world and loves to experience, create and share with the people in it.

Background

Designer Karen Moore originally from Buffalo, New York is currently living in Sugarloaf Key with her loving husband Clint Moore. When not making jewelry, she’s enjoying yoga, socializing or one of the many activities of island living.

Her old life as a corporate girl are days not missed but she certainly pays tribute to this time in her life, for this is what helped create the independent, confident and successful woman she is today.

“I’m proud of my accomplishments, my education and my history but as I get older I’m happy I took a chance. Making jewelry and doing my own thing allows me the free time to actually live life which is priceless and what is life if you’re not living it”, says Karen.

Travel & Experience

Karen has found a love for experiencing the world around her. She and her husband find themselves traveling whenever possible. Many of these travels have molded Karen into the person she is today. Places like Tahiti, Mexico, Costa Rica, India, Europe, Canada and of coarse many of the beautiful places in the U.S. including Maui have enlightened her wanderlust spirit.

“If I had to pick one of my most memorable experiences, Kerala (India) would be in my top five. India is a big culture shock, but full of magic. I have a new found love and respect for the beautiful people and the Ayurvedic way of healing”, says Karen.

Create

Karen’s love for the natural beauty of the world around her is evident in her ZKM jewelry designs. The simplicity of these designs make them wearable by anyone. Only natural elements are used in her creations and mostly consist of semi-precious gemstones as well as shells.

Share

Her desire to educate people about her jewelry and the holistic side of gemstones is one of her loves as she feels it connects people with what she is making and the idea behind it.

Karen actively contributes to causes she supports and also in community causes as well. One of several non-profits she contributes to is the Anne McKee Art Auction. This organization auctions off locally donated artworks and provides grants to local artists. Karen contributes her time each year as one of the art runners in the event and also donates her jewelry to be auctioned off.
